Black Bear in Aspens is an evolution of its earlier incarnation, moving into the Wilding series realm. Mixed media, acrylics, spray paint, metal leaf, framed in reclaimed Lake Tahoe pier wood. It is a bridge between my previous series of Tahoe’s bears, and utilizes reclaimed and new materials, building materials, and an evolution of the previous metal leaf elements with the addition of spray paint and the layers of the current series. It’s its own, unique, painting, with both a modern, more minimalist feel and a nod to the area’s history and the rustic.
